Jennifer Kushell’s Top 6 Life Mentors For Focus And Guidance
On our most recent episode of “Smashing the Plateau,” Founder of Young & Successful Media, Jennifer Kushell, discusses her passion for young entrepreneurial spirit. (If you missed Jennifer, go back and listen here.)
Just like the kids Jennifer seeks to support, she herself has had help along the way. Here are six of the resources she’s found helpful over her life:
1. Rieva Lesonsky
One of my earliest and longest term mentors, advisors, and closest friends. She ran
Entrepreneur Magazine for over 20 years when I was just getting started and took me under her wing.
2. Stephen Covey
His epic book was a profound inspiration to me and my former partner from the age of 15 and 13 respectively. We actually bonded over that. Just as we were releasing Secrets of the Young & Successful, we met him and he said he’d heard of it! We told him it was our inspiration. Then he told us how proud he was of us. It was such a profound moment.
Great site I try to look at daily to remind me to keep health a focus and everything in
perspective. The past year or two I’ve completely changed my habits and lifestyle for the better.
4. John Katzman
John is another of my earliest mentors and longest time supporters. He offered me my first
book deal. Always been such an incredible inspiration. He’s a major icon and pioneer in the education space.
5. Bob Cohen
Bob was my first career counselor at BU, went on to run the Harvard Office of Career Services and has been a mentor, advisor and dear friend ever since.
6. Edward Kushell
Dad has been through everything with me. Picked me up over and over and guided me through the very best and very worst. I don’t know how I would have gotten this far without him. He’s a genius, a legend in his field.
